Matthew Sarver is an ecologist, consultant, and writer. He graduated with Honors from Cornell University with a concentration in Neurobiology and Animal Behavior.
Matt has been an avid birder for nearly 15 years. He is currently Vice President of the Delmarva Ornithological Society.

Matt has worked as an entomologist, botanist, and community ecologist for state Natural Heritage programs in Pennsylvania and Maryland. In 2004-2005, he spent five months in the Big Woods of Arkansas in search of the Ivory-billed Woodpecker as a member of the Cornell / The Nature Conservancy search team.
In 2006, Matt started a consulting business, Sarver Ecological Consulting, so that he would have the flexibility to pursue exciting and important conservation projects that defy disciplinary boundaries and include groups of organisms (particularly invertebrates) that are often overlooked in more traditional conservation planning and outreach.
